Joe Tonnar

About The Artist

Mostly I do landscapes and abstracts. I work in color
with the landscapes but not with the abstracts. I do them
in monotones. I respond to the beauty of nature pretty well,
but I always get this gut feeling that I want to make the landscape
      more and more abstract.
   The abstracts I am more or less comfortable with.
        In them I like to combine geometric shapes with figurative ones
        and the product that comes out pleases me.

            Artist Statement   2010
                     I reside in Carrollton, Missouri. I work at my art in my spare time,
                     whenever I am not working at my other job.

   In 1981 I earned my BFA from Massart and have lived in Carrollton,
                     Missouri the past forty years.
